The Matrix is in programmed control & continues inexorably in the background, whether you are aware of it or not.
Dr. S. James Gates, Jr., a theoretical physicist, the John S. Toll Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, and the Director of The Center for String & Particle Theory, is reporting that certain string theory, super-symmetrical equations, which describe the fundamental nature of the Universe and reality, contain embedded computer codes. These codes are digital data in the form of 1′s and 0′s. Not only that, these codes are the same as what make web browsers work and are error-correction codes! Gates says, “We have no idea what these ‘things’ are doing there”.
Gates discloses in the second video below, as an aside in a formal interview, that some of his research can be interpreted that we do live in a virtual reality. He describes this as “mind-blowing” and similar to the movie “The Matrix”! Further, he adds, that if someone suspected they did live in a virtual reality, then detecting computer codes would be a way to confirm. He concludes with finding these computer codes in equations that describe our world: “that’s what I just proposed!”.
What to make of this? There are two issues: 1) if String Theory will ultimately be a viable and therefore proven model of reality and 2) if so, whether embedded coding is in fact within the related verified equations. Michio Kaku has stated “String Theory Is the Only Game in Town” because it is the only testable theory available.
We have argued on this website that the Universe is a virtual reality. If true, then any theory of reality should eventually confirm this, if the theory has staying power and does not succumb to an early death. Accordingly, time is on the side of the simulation hypothesis to be verified first through theory and then via experiments in the long-run. Technology to provide the means to test that the Universe is a virtual reality is the next step.
Strange Computer Code Discovered Concealed In Superstring Equations! “Doubly-even self-dual linear binary error-correcting block code,” first invented by Claude Shannon in the 1940′s, has been discovered embedded WITHIN the equations of superstring theory! Why does nature have this? What errors does it need to correct? What is an ‘error’ for nature? More importantly what is the explanation for this freakish discovery? Your guess is as good as mine.

Red or Blue Pill? Take the blue pill, the story ends, you awake in your bed, and believe whatever you want to believe.

Red or Blue Pill? Take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
Interview with Dr. S. James Gates, Jr. [Relevant comments begin at about 5:30 in interview] Sylvester James (Jim) Gates, Jr. is a theoretical physicist who received BS (mathematics and physics) and Ph.D. degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the latter in 1977. His doctoral thesis was the first thesis at MIT to deal with supersymmetry. He is currently the John S. Toll Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, College Park and serves on President Barack Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

It’s getting to the point where I just wanna say “duhhhh”
Seriously, we’ve know for some time that everything we experience is made up of pixels of perceived mass(not even measurable unless observed specifically!).
So, where’s the part that’s not virtual?
Agreed, the Universe as a virtual reality or simulation is the only game in town, imho.
Morgan Morgan – you were programed to say that. So when you think you are having an original thought or trying to insinuate nobody (aside from you of
course) is unaware of what reality is just remember you were predetermined to think you are actually thinking.
You are the author of the story you are telling to yourself.
In fact your are WRONG.
Being programmed doesn’t mean you have no self-will or ideas. Absolutely not. It means we put the boundary conditions and the laws. But you might be free within that rules…
One of the biggest criticisms of string theory is that it ISN’T testable. It’s more of a hypothesis than a theory.
I’m not a string theory adherent, not going to defend, and it’s an Ockham’s Razor nightmare to-date. I was quoting Michio Kaku and his support of string theory as the only testable theory.
What? a theory is pure speculation – hypothesis is speculation based off proof.
What is NOT theory but reality is that every thing in this universe is a electromagnetic compilation of circumstances and conditions that evolve continuously from “beginning to end” based on the mathematic formula, Un= Un-1 + Un-2. The power sources are the CMB, quasars and stars, the power from which creates ionization at Planck’s Length which causes polarization and subsequent attraction and repelling causing “matter” to form. The vibrational frequency causes matter to form following the Golden Ratio; the proportional representation visible in a nautilus shell, flora, but also the schematic for all of our physical world, including sound and color.
I wrote a published piece about this for the Mensa Bullertin awhile back called, “It’s Electric!” Anyone interested can read it on my website in the essay section. http://www.galileorealtime.com.

Here is the Gates article from Physics World
Very interesting…
Thanks for information!
Interesting article, thanks.
BTW another approach to testing the simulation hypothesis is illustrated here http://anandavala.info/SystemSimulation.pdf
It begins by seeking to develop a mathematical model of a general system simulator – i.e. an information process that can simulate any type of system. By beginning with a basic model and successively refining it to overcome its limitations this eventually results in an algorithm for a general system simulator.
This exercise naturally results in the re-derivation of the Schrodinger equation (one of the core equations of quantum mechanics). The implication from this is that the dynamics of the quantum field are equivalent to the dynamics of a general system simulator, which implies that the “physical universe” is equivalent to a simulated virtual reality.
All the best,
John
Thanks for you input!
Morgan Morgan – you were programed to say that. So when you think you are having an original thought or trying to insinuate nobody (aside from you of

And you were programmed, and predetermined, to comment as such? lol
Everyone’s heads will explode when the day comes and they realize they don’t have a clue WTF they are talking about. We have no clue. We think we do but we do not.
Probably correct. I think Tom Campbell et al. are most likely on the right track, i.e., the Universe is a virtual reality.
If you think about it though. What if string theory In some way was a system similar to binary sequences? The error code could just be a concequence or a prevention algorithm just like a computer code. Bearing in mind I know absolutely nothing about quantum physics or the schematics of string theory, what if there was the possibility that string theory can be and literally are the algorithms and the computer error code imbedded inside the schematics of string theory was simply “free will”?
Don’t think I’m a nut, I’m just a 15 year old with a over active imagination… Apparently..
Great thinking! Good to hear from you. Another argument against is there is no physical proof of string theory to-date, therefore all the mathematics is “man-made”, and therefore the computer code is “man-made”. Maybe something will come of string theory. Michio Kaku, in another post, said it is “the only game in town”, that is, there are no serious contending theories.
Except for the loop quantum gravity shiz.
The other game…
Has some good points but toward the end you get the idea the guy is a whack job.

Wow David! Thanks so much for posting that! I’ve been waiting for such a confirmation for years! Funny that you mention Ray Kurzweil on this site because I asked him about whether he thought our world could be a simulation years ago. I talk about that and my perspective on our simulated world in this article: “Proof That We’re Living A Life of Illusion” (http://thelaymansanswerstoeverything.com/?p=515) I posted a link to this article in the comments there.

Hello Marc, thanks for you input. Like your blog. David
This is great information, but please resist the temptation to cheese up the information with overly dramatic music (or any music at all.) It destroys the credibility of what you’re trying to present.
i just herd Beethoven 5th after that 1.
I am just a grandmother/mom. I stumbled across your info in my searching for truth, i found it quite fascinating. It leads me to compare it with the teachings of the mormon religion also. You are child of god to begin with. A spirit who is given an earthly body without memory at birth of this body. Your purpose is to use this life and bodily experience to learn. If you follow the correct path you will have life with a perfect body along with your family once again. I believe suicide would interrupt your program to the extent of destroying it possibly. But…if you do not acquire perfection you do have another chance but that chance is more difficult without this physical body to use to complete these lessons. Im a mormon and what you say i find a parallel to within this religion. Im not nuts just this is my observation of what i see in what ive learned from your video. This article and the responses. Thanks for the can opener on my mind. I wish i could learn more.
Hello Mary Jane, thanks for your input. I hope some of my postings were of assistance to you. No, I don’t think you are nuts. We are all on a journey which is subjective and affected by our personal beliefs, ego, and fears as we learn to become beauty, strength, wisdom, and love. All the Best to You, David.

The sooner we accept or at least assume that this Universe is in fact a type of computer simulation the faster we will be able to understand it.
So, lets start with some analogies… what is the equivalent to computer memory, what is the equivalent to processing power, what are the equivalent techniques to data transfer, and so on. For example… What causes a computer to crash and what is the anology in our so called reality? Are black holes an example of where the information density is too high resulting in a form of buffer overflow? After all, if we have found something that resembles EDAC then lets start looking for all of the other stuff. We may find it sooner than most scientists think.
This and the Holographic Principle hold the key to unlocking the secrets of this Universe, Reality, or whatever we want to call it.
Hey Nick,
Some intriguing questions and ideas! I would say that the upload and download of info into this universe happens at the speed of light, creating the elements we see here. This is why E=MC2 (the upload and download at the speed of light makes it squared. The mass is the programming code. This is also why numerology, spells, and symbols could have power.)
I’d also say that crashes are caused by conflicts between program codes and current instructions. They probably happen frequently here, but since we get rebooted and most of the info is saved, we only lose a bit of time that few of us could pick up on, but this might explain deja vu.
This “Transcend” article (and a few other ones I read a couple months ago) recently inspired me to write a new post (http://thelaymansanswerstoeverything.com/2013/01/23/scientific-proof-we-live-in-a-simulation/) on my blog where I talk a lot about similarities between our simulation and how computers work, as well as stories for religion and mythology. I spoke very briefly about the quantum entanglement idea you mentioned below (you actually expressed it better there).
Thanks for sharing!
Marc
Why also should we have a fixed upper speed limit in the Universe in the form of the speed of light? What has defined this measurable limit?
Is this simply a limitation to the rate of change of information? e.g. information cannot be changed quicker than than some constant divided by the speed of light? Perhaps this is the clock speed within the ‘matrix computer’?
We could argue that this upper speed limit could never be broken. Ever.
And, for those that point to the instantaneous effect of Quantum Entanglement in the ‘spooky’ connection… this is not actually real as far as our reality is concerned. Rather, the two entangled particles are simply one and the same piece of information in ‘computer memory’ but are ‘projected’ differently into our reality to resemble two entities. But, they are of of course just one source.
We must also consider the prospect that time does not run left to right. Past flowing into future. Cause and effect. Rather, time is running outwards in both directions (into the past and into the future) from our present within the constraints of ‘self consistency’. This is one conclusion which may be drawn from the Quantum Eraser, Delayed Choice experiments. However, there is much more compelling evidence which I shall describe another time.
The quite shocking conclusion is that we are in some way driving this ‘simulation’ from our observations and have not only created the big bang by looking for one but potentially the simulation itself and its maker. Don’t like to get religous but the following quote may be recognisable to some readers… “Indeed, everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
Think about it for longer than 10 minutes to see if you can work out why and why the last quote is relevant.

I truely thought the pure experience of this Universe, this Earth, and nature are the most beautiful fulfillment of life. I sincerely hope that if all that I am is a computer simulation—then I hope the super computer running that simulation crashes.
Denny,
Crashes or glitches may happen all the time and result in what we feel as deja vu as the system gets rebooted. Even if the computer were to permanently crash however, you’d most likely find yourself in the simulated world that created this world. It’s turtles all the way down bro. And even if you were to get to the original first reality, you’d likely come to find that it’s not perfect either, or else why create another world to begin with? That’s the Garden of Eve/Matrix myth. We began in a life of perfection, but this perfection was boring and offered no challenges, so we created a new world. Life can be beautiful without being real. Just look at any art, or ask someone hearing for the first time through a implanted hearing aid. Everything you experience is only your brain’s interpretation of reality anyway. What’s the difference?
Pretty much agree with you. Tom Campbell, et al. say we are receiving a data stream, which is the reality we know and perceive. To see the data stream source is most likely impossible, especially in this reality we call the Universe but also in a higher state of consciousness as well.
While it may not be possible from this reality to see the source, we may be able to observe it from its effects–similar to a black hole. David Wilcock wrote a whole book on this, piecing together various experiments that I found very interesting. You might dig it too:
